Question of the Month: November 2017 Edition

We are back yet again for Novembers Question of the Month hosted by our friendly neighbourhood Later Levels. Sadly, my pick from last month for Samus Aran as the go to mercenary didn’t bode too well. But that doesn’t matter, all I can do is look ahead to what’s in store for this month and try to make my case this time around. This month’s question is…

Which video game character wears the least appropriate clothing for the activity they’re doing?

Many choices came to mind, and at first, I kept coming to skimpy dressed females in games requiring weapon based combat, but that’s too obvious and no fun. So instead, I did a bit more digging, and I settled on one choice, and that was…

That’s right, our favourite jungle trekking gorrila, Donkey Kong, and in exactly 100 words, here is why!

“A gorilla that wears a tie? Why? This is highly impractical for all the activities Donkey Kong partakes in. Whether he is strolling along the jungles in Donkey Kong Country, or getting into several brawls in Smash Brothers, the tie is a hazard! It could easily get caught in something causing injury, or worse, his opponents can easily grab it without any warning. It’s not like Donkey Kong is attending some sort of board meeting with the top Nintendo executives, is he? Perhaps it’s for deception, who knows? All I know is it’s time to lose the tie Donkey Kong.”

Don’t forget to check back Friday at Later Levels to check the official post and vote for your favourite answer.

Do you think Donkey Kong’s tie is inappropriate for the activities he does? What video game characters do you think wear inappropriate clothes for the activities they partake in? Let’s tie our answer together in the comments!

  1. That is a very solid argument for Mr. Kong. I too don’t really understand the tie – he wears no other clothes. Would he be “naked” if he wasn’t wearing the tie? Do gorillas care about being naked? So many unanswered questions.
